Philosophy
Making Your Health First Priority
You have all seen it, or heard others complaining about it. Doctors' offices with generic waiting rooms, where patients wait for hours, reading proverbial magazines from yesteryear, waiting for their names to be called, wondering when they would be seen.
We had such experiences too, and wanted to make Home Towne Family Medicine a different kind of clinic. We wanted to make patients comfortable and feel pampered. We want them to be able to say that they get the attention they want, when they want. Of course, we still want to deliver the most up to date medical care in the compassionate way that you expect from your old family doctor.
Independent, Yet Connected
Home Towne Family Medicine is an independent primary care clinic that is part of the diverse medical community of Burien. We have a close-knit relationship with and refer to other independent primary care and specialty providers in the area, as well as members of the Franciscan Medical Group. Our primary hospital is St. Anne (formerly Highline Medical Center), part of the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Network. When appropriate or by patient preference, we also refer to and utilize other specialists and facilities in the Puget Sound area, such as Swedish Medical Center and University of Washington Medical Center. We are a proud member of our own provider network, the Independent Clinics of Washington, allowing us to provide many value-added services to our patients, especially seniors.
Services
Professional, Comfortable, Easy
Home Towne Family Medicine
We are a new style of clinic that combines the latest technology, up-to-date medicine, comfortable surroundings, and attention to personal service. To make it easy, we offer evening hours. For more urgent matters, and can usually accommodate you on the same day if you call in the morning.
Virtual, Late, and Same Day Visits
We are committed to keeping our patients healthy, and virtual visits provide an alternative when you cannot be in the clinic physically. Usually virtual visits are conducted via Updox, our patient portal. Although we are not an urgent care clinic, we do have after-hours appointments on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to at least 8 pm. Please let our staff know if you need an urgent appointment, and they can always squeeze you in with our 'No Patient Left Behind' policy, usually around a meal time.
Pediatric Care
We no longer see pediatric patients. Especially with a smaller space, we cannot keep vaccines on site. Families in our panel will be reassigned to other clinics, especially pediatricians.
Preventative Care and Chronic Care Management
At Home Towne Family Medicine, we focus on Preventative Care. Most insurances have preventative visits, and we encourage all to take full advantage of them. For those Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients with chronic conditions, we recognize that more time and energy is needed than depending on the occasional, often event-driven visits. To this end, we have partnered with COSAN with monthly phone calls to coordinate Medicare's Chronic Care Management. They help us offer more focused time for those who need it, and provide and adhere to a comprehensive plan of care.

In March of 2023, we moved from our old location to the next diagonal corner. As seen on the map, we are now on 155th and 4th instead of 156th and 3rd. From the parking lot of the old space, turn right (north) onto 3rd Avenue, turn left (west) at end of block, and turn right into the parking lot before the stop sign.
